Working on campus is a great way to gain experience, build connections, and support the WNMU community. This page walks you through everything you need to know—from applying for student jobs to completing your hiring steps and getting started. Expand the sections below to follow each step in the process.

  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the fall or spring semester
  • Be authorized to work in the United States (complete the I-9 Employment Verification)
  • Have a valid Social Security Number

  2. Click on Students
  3. Search for jobs you are interested in – you will need to create an account and complete the online application and upload your resume and class schedule.
  4. The department you applied to will receive your application and make the determination to interview and move forward with your application.

  2. Once the department has selected you for the position, you will receive an email with your offer letter and student new hire paperwork packet.
  3. Complete the new hire paperwork – all paperwork must be completed and all required documents need to be verified before you can start work.
  • CHECK YOUR EMAIL OFTEN:  If you’ve applied for a job and received an offer, all of your paperwork will be sent via your email.  It is important to check this on a regular basis and respond accordingly to avoid delays.
  • TIMELINESS IS KEY:  Any delays in completing onboarding paperwork in its entirety, will delay your start date.
  • I9 PROCESSING:  Click the “Acceptable Documents” button below – these are the supporting documents that are needed for I-9 verification.
  • ORIGINALS ONLY – photocopies will not be accepted.

Before you can start working, you must provide original documents for I-9 verification. Photocopies are NOT accepted.  Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Option1: U.S Passport
  • Option 2: Driver’s License or School ID and Social Security Card or Birth Certificate

Students must present these documents in person to Human Resources before their start date.

International students on F-1 or J-1 visas are eligible to work on campus if they are enrolled full-time.  Required Documents for Employment for International Students:

For F-1 Students (On-Campus/CPT/OPT)

  • Unexpired Foreign Passport + Form I-94 (F-1 status) + Form I-20
  • OR an Employment Authorization Document (EAD Card) especially for OPT
